God is..😃😡

While reading Genesis chapter 6 through 9, we see a lot about God's characterization. God     shows frustration in the beginning. He wanted to create a Flood to destroy all people. He told a old man named Noah to create an ark and save all people. Noah did the right thing and obey God's command. He created an ark and followed what he was told by God. God showed kindness towards Noah. Noah was special to God.
In Genesis chapter 6 verse 3 it says “Then the LORD said, "My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for he is flesh, but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years." God made Noah lived for 600 years even though he said that all people shall die at a hundred and twenty years.
God's characterization changed. God became nicer since he was pleased that Noah did the things that he was told.
Chapter 8 verse 21 says “And when the LORD smelled the pleasing odor, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done." This showed that God became nicer. As a Christian I was always taught by elders that God is compassionate and loving. But in the Old Testament we can see that God can get frustrated easily. But he was thankful that Noah respected him. He is not always angry. God has a sensitive side too.

Who do we blame for the eviction of Eden?

I think we should blame the serpent (snake). The reason I think this is because I feel that the serpent is suppose to be Satan. Although Adam and Eve were told not to eat fruit from the Garden of Eden, the serpent tempted them.
The serpent said "You will not surely die, for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." So, the serpent was saying to Eve that you would not get in trouble but instead when you eat the fruit you will receive powers like God. Eve knew that she was not suppose to eat it because she was told to but she bit the fruit anyway and gave some to Adam. The serpent was trying to convince both Adam and Eve to misbehave and follow the devil's side. The serpent was trying to trick Eve into following bad behavior. God was testing Adam and Eve if they were going to do well but they were tempted. If it wasn't for the serpent trying to tempt them then Adam and Eve would have followed God's commands.

Sumerian Flood Vs. Indian Flood

The Sumerian Flood (Epic of Gilgamesh) and the Indian Flood are different and similar  in many ways. Manu, who was the first man to be created by the Hindu gods was warned by a fish that a big Flood was coming. While Manu was washing his hands in a bowl of water he saw that there was a small fish and that was God Vishnu. The fish told Manu if he would keep him him then in favor the fish will save him from the Flood. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim was warned by a God named Ea. One way they were similar is that they were both told to create a boat. Ea told Utnapishtim to bring his family and "the seeds of the living" but Manu was told to bring 2 of each animal and also seeds of every type of plant. Both Manu and Upnapishtim obeyed on what they were told. Manu and Upnapishtim were lonely during the Flood. They both were able to survive during the Flood. After the Flood was over Upnapishtim and Manu both landed on a mountain. Manu was rewarded a wife from the fish. When Upnapishtim was told about the coming of the Flood it was because that the Gods of firmament, war, earth/wind/air and irrigation wanted to destroy the Earth but God Ea didn't want to. He betrayed the gods and told Upnapishtim to save the Earth. In the Indian mythology, the fish (God Vishnu or God Brahma) did not want destroy the world. This was not a punishment for Manu. These Floods are very similar because all around the world there is a similar story that a figure is telling an important person to obey and save the Earth and the people.  Both Manu and Upnapishtim did the right thing because the both listened to their role model.
